My name is Tony Macgregor. I am num.  

    I have spent my life working in horrible soul destroying jobs, responding to the magnet pull of the media, watching shit television, and walking around in a daze. I've been a bin man, a shop assistant, a quilt stuffer, a dish washer, an ornament fettler, an antique dealer, a car valleter, an office boy, a painter and decorator, a club singer, a teddy bear salesman, and have been terrible to average at all of them. I am the all singing all dancing scum of the earth.

     My name is Tony Macgregor. I am num.  

    I can't read or write music. I have no qualifications to speak of. I constantly contradict myself and can never decide who is right or wrong in an argument. I hate greed, I hate pretence, I hate arrogance, I hate falseness and I'm not a fan of confident people (unfounded self belief disturbs me). I detest all forms of organised religion (let my people go), I detest scientists and mathematicians who think they have answers (they don't), and I detest people who think they are better than others.

    I was the only boy out of five children born to a hippy poet mother and a beatnik journalist father. I have a lot of dreams about being dead. I am average height, average weight and average shoe size. I write all my songs on buses or trains. I don't sleep enough. I listen to radio four. I am neurotic, obsessive, and compulsive, and tend to get depressed when I don't drink alcohol. I have a very short attention span.

    I record my songs alone because I can't compromise. I release my songs alone because I don't want anyone telling me how they should sound and what "market" I should be going for. The obvious drawback of this pig headedness is that I don't have any money. Freedom trumps money though.
